"Each success only buys an admission ticket to a more difficult problem."

It is so important that you are grateful for everything in your life. Many people focus on the one thing they want and then forget to be grateful for all the things they have. Without gratitude you cannot achieve anything through the law of attraction, because if you are not emanating gratitude from your being, then by default you are emanating ungratefulness. Be proactive and use the frequency of your being to receive what you want.

"One characteristic of winners is they always look upon themselves as a do it yourself project."
When you're in front of your prospect, be an inspiration. Model good behavior and refuse to get dragged into the mud. If your prospect wants to argue with you, don't. If your prospect wants you to put down your competitor, don't. This is a form of competition that is not healthy for the buyer/seller relationship. Keeping a positive attitude even when others are caught up in negativity will bring tremendous balance into your personal, professional, and spiritual life. As you achieve that balance, you will see your sales success increase.
"Pretend that every single person you meet has a sign around his or her neck that says, "Make me feel important." Not only will you succeed in sales, you will succeed in life."

"When everybody tells you that you are being idealistic or impractical, consider the possibility that everybody could be wrong about what is right for you."

"Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks."

Do you drive yourself to success by some higher meaning, or are you always on the hunt for the next commission? If you dedicate your life to a cause higher than yourself, you will never want to stop contributing. Create enough meaning, and you will create enough energy to accomplish your goals. It's okay to be ambitious, and it's okay to use numbers to stay motivated and benchmark your personal progress. But if you limit the meaning of your work to money, you will soon run out of energy.
"If you’re looking for the next big thing,
and you’re looking where everyone else is,
you’re looking in the wrong place."
When you close your eyes and you visualize having money and imagine doing all the things you want with that money, you are creating a new reality. Your subconscious mind and the law of attraction do not know whether you are imagining something or whether it is real. And so when you imagine, the law of attraction receives those thoughts and images as though you were actually living them, and it must return those visions to you.
When you are in the place where what you are imagining feels real, you will know that it has penetrated your subconscious mind, and the law of attraction must deliver it.
"Miracles can be made, but only by sweating."

Brainstorming aloud during a negotiation is a great way to get past an impasse. It's a way for everyone to step back and generate some ideas without judging or feeling pressure to reach a resolution. It sounds like this: "Let's step back and try a few 'what-ifs,'" or "We seem to be stuck here. What if we discuss some options and see if something emerges that we can both live with?" Brainstorming not only generates ideas and alternatives, it also shows your willingness to be open and flexible.
"Change before you have to."

"Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is delay not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead end."
o you have a compulsion to check your email, even during downtime? Do you stay up too late working on proposals? Do you skip gym time in favor of vegging out in front of the TV? These habits are not bad per se. Many are positive, such as committing to get that proposal in first thing Monday. Plenty are just plain practical, such as returning emails promptly. The good ones and the practical ones should be cultivated, because they save time or give you energy. But the bad habits should be weeded out as soon as you recognize them.

You know that what you say to prospects can make or break your presentation, but what you say to yourself can be just as important. Self-talk affects your attitude, and your attitude affects sales performance. Are you aware of any tendencies to engage in negative self-talk, either to yourself or to others? Increase your awareness so that you stop talking down to yourself. Make a commitment to start sending yourself more positive and constructive messages.
"The Chinese use two brush strokes to write the word "crisis." One brush stroke stands for danger, the other for opportunity. In a crisis, be aware of danger--but recognize the opportunity."
"To me, every hour of the day and night is an unspeakably perfect miracle."
There is no substitute for unbridled determination. Talent cannot take the place of determination. The world is full of extremely talented people who never reached their goals because they lacked the determination to work hard, day after day, rain or shine. Education cannot take the place of determination. Plenty of highly educated people are held back by an inability to take action when it counts. You absolutely have to be committed to achieving your goals in order to succeed in sales. Diligence plus determination will get you there.
"At home we have always regarded the dining table as the prime seat of learning. We planned it so it was impossible to see or hear a TV from the table, and it has paid dividends in the volume of ideas that have been shared over the evening meal."

When you read a good book, you visualize. You create mental images of the scenes and characters, and you may even project what you think they'll do next. Another type of imaging you probably use is worrying. Worry is the visualization of negative outcomes. According to Dr. Wayne Dyer, 90 percent of the things we worry about never come true. Think of all that time you could be spending visualizing positive results – results that can help you make sales, achieve your goals, and reach your full potential.
"Your imagination is your preview of life's coming attractions."
What's your first reaction when you close a deal? When the sale is fresh in your mind, take a few minutes to review it and write down what you did right. What steps did you take? What were the factors under your control that contributed to the sale? You don't want to have to reinvent the wheel every time; what winning behaviors can you replicate to make sure you have a good chance of winning again?
"You never know when a moment and a few sincere words can have an impact on a life."
"The ability to communicate with everybody, regardless of who are you are, is a great thing."
Strength can be seen as an act of self-leadership. Remember the leadership skills of Winston Churchill and the way he helped a nation to endure the hardship and pain of war and survive with its humanity intact. He understood that, for his country to survive, he would have to inspire people to build strength – strength of purpose, strength of vision, strength of will. This isn't just history. Our world today fumes and flares with danger. Chronic frustrations and thwarted expectations tug at us all the time. If we build our strength, however, we will safeguard ourselves from feeling victimized by negative experiences.
If you do your homework, an objection or angry response should never take you by surprise. You shouldn't take someone's negativity or anger personally. Even if his or her objections are based on factual error, your first response should be to validate the other person's feelings. Objections and disagreements can be useful opportunities to better understand someone. There is no "one answer fits all" for objections or angry outbursts. Recognize that they're a natural part of dealing with people.
"‘Information’ is giving out;
‘communication’ is getting through."
"Only free people can hold their purpose and their honor steady to a common end, and prefer the interests of mankind to any narrow interest of their own."

"I enjoy every opportunity and live every moment. And that is why I have no regrets. It's when you are not scared of losing that you win everything."

Friday, January 16, 2015

In both sales and life, guts come before glory. But sales professionals will not succeed solely by a willingness to take risks. First and foremost, honor and purpose must exist. Nothing good comes to those in sales who think only of themselves. Define for yourself the fundamentals of honor and good sense. Leave no room for failure to meet these expectations. You should never be caught with unclear convictions. Make sure your purpose is definite before committing to taking the necessary risks to succeed.

Anatole France once commented, "We do not know what to do with this short life, yet we yearn for another that will be eternal." When we solve problems, we feel satisfied. By solving problems, we develop into who we are. That is why it is so important to develop good habits when it comes to our choices. Once we accept responsibility for our own accomplishments and growth by choosing wise paths for ourselves, our options become more abundant and clear. Remember: whenever you make choices, you are also creating yourself.

Isn't it great to know that you cannot control your world from the outside? To try and control things on the outside feels impossible because it would take so much work, and in fact it is impossible according to the law of attraction.
To change your world all you have to do is manage your thoughts and feelings on the inside of you, and then your whole world changes.

Certain people seem to have a gift for rising above setbacks. They appear to glide from one stage of life to another, gathering steam and accolades as they go. But what do these people have in common? The secret is the way they look at failure. What some people think of as failure, these folks see as a natural part of a process. Setbacks are part of our evolution. Start thinking of so-called mistakes as a chance to reinvent yourself and move forward with curiosity and adventure.
